If you have watched Fox’s “The Following” starring Kevin Bacon, you are well aware of the inconsistencies and plot holes.

The portrayal of FBI agents is downright insulting, and is, James Purefoy‘s Joe Carroll really all that chasmatic? I mean come on, he quotes Poe, who was more about darkness, then inspiration.
Are there really people simply drawn to him because he was a serial killer? So much so that they are ready to give their lives to him for no apparent reason?There is better out there, much better. If you would like to read a novel that gives a serious exploration of cult mentality, then you have to read “Satin; The New Savior. “ Yes Satin; The New Savior is extreme, but Scono Sciuto weaves a tale, that in the context of the novel, makes sense and has a believability factor lacking in shows like Fox’s The Following.
Read the novel today, so when the movie is released you will have the entire back story.
